We’ve seen jiu-jitsu brands collab with streetware brands before but we’re super stoked on the latest drop from Hyperfly. The Southern California BJJ apparel manufacturer teamed up with legendary street brand Carhartt Work In Progress, the offshoot of Carhartt that blends a refined and timeless aesthetic appealing to the music, skate, and street subcultures.
The two brands teamed up to create a series of custom Gis. Fusing together both brands’ unique aesthetic, each Gi has been created in Carhartt WIP’s iconic duck fabric, with tonal stitch detailing and subtle co-branding. The Gi has been created in three colorways – navy, black and Hamilton brown. Carhartt WIP stores will exclusively stock the black colorway, while the other two colorways will be available through Hyperfly channels.
This drop is not quite like anything we’ve seen before from either brand. We’re excited for the attention and possibilities that well-established and highly-respected street brands bring to the BJJ subculture.
