New Metcon 2 Colors in Wake of Nano 6 Release

Nike is set to release new colorways of the Metcon 2 on July 18th. This comes just two weeks after the Reebok Nano 6.0 release and one day before the 2016 Crossfit games begin.

In an attempt to stay relevant in the Crossfit scene during this heavily Reebok-branded time, the “royal” Metcon plays on the Air Jordan 1 color scheme. Reportedly, the Air Jordan and Metcon 1 suffered a similar fate, as both were banned from competition during their infancy. See more pics at Sneaker News.

The release also includes a Volt/Blue Glow/Black edition…

And a grey, white and hints of green version, reported from Hypebeast, as a tribute to the Air Trainer 1. Check out their report here.

Update:

From nike.com

The new NIke Metcon 2 Knows trainer pays homage to 1987’s groundbreaking Nike Air Trainer 1. A leather and suede upper pays homage to the iconic original sneaker, as chlorophyll accents further reference the classic multi-sport trainer.

It knows, from hours and hours of workouts, cross-training and off seasons.

It knows the ups and downs, the side to side, the push and pull of improvement.
It knows your routine, from balance and burpees to laterals and lunges because it knows the recipe for better.
It knows stability. It knows strength. It knows work. It knows that to fulfill its potential, it needs you.
The Metcon knows training. Get to know it.
