Top Four Rising Activewear Brands in 2016

Strike Mvmnt

SRIKE

This Vancouver based athletic footwear and apparel brand launched in 2012 and has been on the rise ever since. Strike Mvmnt offers a distinctly clean and classic look with a range of sweats, raglans, and running footwear. Now with three retail locations, one each in Van, SF, and Finland, the brand shows no signs of slowing down. Their mission is to “design and develop aesthetic vehicles for the pursuit of athletics” and the brand has already planted solid roots in the movement and Crossfit cultures, with sponsorships of prominent figureheads like Darryl Stingley and Carl Paoli.

Rhone

rhone

Born out of the desire to fill a void in the men’s activewear industry, a talented team of athletes and entrepreneurs came together to develop Rhone, now one of Lululemon’s biggest competitors. Rhone offers aesthetically pleasing, yet highly functional activewear that serves to be worn during those transitional times throughout the day, like from the office to the gym, running errands around town, or on the road traveling. With a recent securement of additional financing and breaking ground on a new 4,000sq ft HQ, Rhone is here to stay.

FL2
FL22

FL2 is the men’s line of Kate Hudson’s extremely popular activewear brand, Fabletics.  The men’s line launched in the summer of 2015 and has been spreading like wildfire since. The brand prides itself on offering affordable activewear pieces that are fashion forward, functional and have a clean, simple aesthetic. FL2 offers a unique shopping experience on their website, with curated outfits based on a brief lifestyle questionnaire. VIP members also receive their first outfit for a deep discount of 50% off, and starting at only $25.

Outdoor Voices

OV

Launched in 2013, OV has already established itself as a major player in the activewear space. Built on a “lighthearted” foundation, the brand deals simple designs that are made to perform. Although labeled as activewear, the vision was to provide good looking clothes that will perform on any path, not only in the gym. Outdoor Voices has also secured some pretty serious cash for its new ventures, and from some pretty big players, so it’s continued growth is fully expected in the years ahead.
